Debra Elliott (Autumn-Burn-Death)
The burnt orange orb scorched my pale skin. Streaks of lobster red danced up and down my arms and across my face. It wasn't suppose to be hot as Hades in Autumn, but global warming had attacked Earth and death was all around. My feet seared into the tarred concrete. My body melted into a pool of death as a fireball fast approached its destination. I could hear the sounds of dying, the rattle of rasping sing-song charred voices as people burn...
The cotton white orb cooled my leathered skin. Flecks of snow tickled my withered face. Had Winter come? I could not absorb the coolness around me. My body was aflame with red-hot heat. Autumn was gone, surrendered to Summer. Snow became lava. I became a burning flame swallowed up by the changing seasons.
Daffodils pushed through ebony soot, reborn into Spring. Autumn was dead. Winter was yesterday. Summer was faded. Seasons burn, etched into global warming.
Acid rain fell from a blackened sky. My skin blistered and peeled away from bones. Autumn melted into death. Memories burn. Life is taken away with the changing of the guard. Autumn, burn, death seared together.
