It’s difficult being in love with you. He stared into her eyes knowing that she was the only girl he’d ever love and the only girl he’d never agree with. She was a knock-out, curvaceous with blonde hair and dazzlingly blue eyes. I would be a fool not to love her right?
“If you just knew how hard it was to pick a good manicurist in this town…” She examined her long fingernails.
They were like a couple in a Bette Davis movie. She was always sophisticated, prideful, and a real pip. He was her opposite in every way, except that he too was prideful and a pip. Just like the movie they were fated to end up together. And thus my fate is sealed to be forever in love and in torment. If I survive the first year of marriage, I will deserve an award.
Her lips were moving, droning endlessly. It was always like this for them. At least when they weren’t fighting. They argued and squabbled and quarreled and fought and bickered and… I just can’t take this anymore! His mind reeled with a sudden thought. If only I could silence her forever. She would be perfect. We would never fight. All it would take is sewing up those luscious red lips…
He shook his head and banished the thought from his mind. What would I do without her? Live a life without her chaos? That would be boring. I need a little spice in my life. He looked into her eyes and smiled a crooked smile.
“Shut up!” She surprised him with a whack on the shoulder.
“I didn’t say anything!”
“I saw that look in your eyes.” Her red lips set firm. That look always meant trouble.
“What look?!”
“What look?” She mimed in a snotty voice. It was like she loved the conflict.
“You don’t have to be that way. Just explain what you were talking to me about!”
“You should already know, darling.” Her voice turned chilly.
“I don’t get you.”
“Maybe that’s because you never had me.”
“What’s that supposed to mean?!” Is she really worth this?
She picked up a jar from the counter and threw it at the fireplace. “Do you know what that’s supposed to mean?”
At that moment he rushed at her and held her in his arms. How can I help myself from loving this woman?
Her tense body went limp when he touched her. Her lips met the base of his neck in little kisses. She whispered quietly in a sad pouty little voice. “Don’t you think you should tell me why you hate me so?”
He shook his head as a though struck him. Life would be so boring without her.
